Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (RD)

Mangalore, Nov 4: The pumping-out operation of diesel and furnace oil from the cargo hold of sunken Eritrea registered freighter vessel MV Den Den, at Tannirbavi beach, off NMPT on June 23, will be resumed on Monday, November 5.

The representatives of salvage firm have arrived along with experts in the city while the barge which was required to store the pumped-out liquid cargo, would likely to arrive at the location on Monday, November 5 morning.

The salvagers have the foremost job of relieving the fears of environmental disaster among the fishermen living along the shore line, close to the sunken ship.  Moreover the salvagers would consider the task of re-floating the ship, if possible or the possibilities of breaking the ship, in order to dispatch the scrap to ship yards within the country.
