Billava Chamber of Commerce and Industry is boon community – N T Poojary

Mumbai, Jun 11: “Billava community has not grown as expected. The neglect of education sector may be the reason for it. We can find a solution by strengthening the society with educated and self-employed individuals. Billava Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) was started with that aim. We hope that it will be a boon to all the Billavas,” opined Billava Jagruthi Balaga president, mastermind and founder president of BCCI, N T Poojary.

“Billava community, which belongs to OBC category, has strong leaders who can lead the country. However our youth is deprived of education, employment, business and leadership for one reason or the other and have not progressed as expected. BCCI will work hard for the betterment of the community”, N T Poojary added.

Excerpts from the an exclusive interview Daijiworld held with N T Poojary:

* How will BCCI encourage youth to conduct business ?

Our knowledge during the present era when youth are using modern technology like mobiles and IPods is not enough. We will ask experienced intellectuals to create awareness of business among youth and to encourage them.

* Is BCCI restricted to discussions, excursions and felicitations?

Discussions and business tours are necessary for junior leaders to create awareness on business. We will stress only on annual awards to identify their service and talents.

* Do not you feel that only one group is given prominence in the selection of BCCI office bearers?

They are appointed only after taking the members of various organizations into confidence. The progress of BCCI is united. It may be difficult to unite all the community members in the land. In future all will be provided positions as per qualifications in order to proceed with the organization and the society.

* How will you be recognizing young talents?

Our main aim is encourage the youth. Most of us are spread in the world and are spending lives as self-employed. We will be communicating with them in order to share experiences by holding get-togethers.

* You being young businessman, how will you be thinking to make the organization work differently?

Our leaders have thought about themselves but not thought about the future leadership. Youth are thousand times more talented than them. But youth's talent has not received recognition. When such mentality goes away, there will be renewed spirit among youth. I want to do something for the society by working towards it. If the elders promote, juniors benefit, BCCI can become a model organization.

* What is the contribution from Billavara Maha Mandala, Akhila Bharatha Billavara union and Billavara association?

All of them are working for the progress of the community. BCCI has got their help already. BCCI is preparing to serve with their support.

* How many members are there in BCCI? How high do you intend to take it?

We have received 300 members in a month. We hope to have 1,000 members in a year. We intend to have BCCI chapters all over the country to make the organization grow.
