Shivamogga, Jun 11: The Lokayukta special court here, which heard disproportionate assets case involving former minister and current leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council, K S Eshwarappa, granted conditional bail to him.
A local advocate, Vinod, had complained that K S Eshwarappa, his son, K E Kantesh, and daughter-in-law, Shalini, had amassed wealth that was disproportionate to their known sources of income. Judge of the court, B K Nayak, who heard the case, granted bail subject to furnishing of two guarantors each, and bonds for five lac rupees each.
This case was last posted to June 7, but Eshwarappa, his son and daughter-in-law had not been able to attend the court then. It was therefore adjourned to June 10. Eshwarappa attended the court on Friday. Advocate, Ashok G Bhat, filed bail application on his behalf. Eshwarappa said that a political conspiracy has been hatched against him in the form of court case.
