Bengaluru, Jun 11: The state high court (HC) has upheld the order of the state government appointing Omprakash as state inspector general and director general of police.

Senior IPS officer and chairman and managing director of Karnataka Police Housing Corporation, Sushant Mahapatra, had approached the high court with a request to dismiss the government order appointing Omprakash to the above post. He had argued that the government order as well as the action of the Central Administrative Tribunal in upholding it were illegal.

The division bench comprising Justice Jayant Patel and Justice B Srinivase Gowda passed an order dismissing the appeal filed by Mahapatra on Friday June 10.
