Mumbai, Jun 11: The Kannada department of Mumbai University held a programme to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of late Dr B R Ambedkar at Kalina Campus, Santacruz east on Friday afternoon June 10. A
discussion was also held on the social reforms enthused by the late leader.
The programme was presided over by Mumbai University Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya. Well known Kannada dramatist, director and scientist Dr B R Manjunath was present on the dais. Dr Upadhya said that the Kannada department is in its 38th year of service and is leading among 18 Kannada departments in the country.
Kannada department assistant Dr Poornima Sudhakar Shetty welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Shamala Prakash proposed the vote of thanks. Rama Udupa welcomed everyone, introduced the guests and proposed the vote of thanks.
