Murray to team up with ex-coach Lendl again

London, June 12 (IANS): British tennis star Andy Murray on Sunday declared his intention to pair up with former coach Ivan Lendl before the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club.

The 29-year-old has been without a coach since splitting with Amelie Mauresmo shortly before the French Open last month.

Lendl, a former World No.1 and winner of eight Grand Slams, acted as the coach of the Scotsman from 2012 to 2014.

During their association, Murray won Wimbledon, the US Open and an Olympic gold medal.

Since Murray split up from Lendl and teamed up with Mauresmo, he has struggled to reach his top form.

"Ivan's single-minded and knows what it takes to win the big events," The BBC quoted Murray saying in a statement.

"I had two very successful years working with him. I'm looking forward to Ivan joining the team again and helping me try and reach my goals."
