Bengaluru, Jun 15: The Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh® (BKCS), Koramangala is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary at Good Shepherd Auditorium on June 26.
NRI entrepreneur, Ronald Pinto will be the chief guest and Austin Roach the chairman RBD Shelters, Bengaluru will preside over the function.
To mark this occasion, a mega Konkani musical nite 'Sangeeth Sambhram' is organised and all the proceedings from this show will go to the education of poor children. This musical show comprises singers from Goa and Mangaluru.
Lorna Cordeiro popularly known as Nightingale of Goa will be performing in Bengaluru for the very first time and Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh is very proud to host such an event.
The Mangalurean spice is added by the ‘Konkan Kalashree’ Claud D’souza along with Josna Fernandes and Ashwin D’costa. Leslie Rego will be the MC and famous Konkani comedian Dolla will tickle your ribs.
BKCS started in 1996 by the few social minded individuals with an objective to promote, educate, conserve social and cultural heritage and traditions of Konkani language. It has over 550 life members comprising mostly heads of families. Presently William Pinto is the president and Alwyn Rasquinha is secretary of the association.
Since its inception, BKCS members are actively involved in social and welfare activities of the people living in south Bengaluru. In 2011, BKCS organized a Melwyn Peris Nite in aid of Thalassemia children's of St John's Hospital, Bengaluru. In association with St John's hospital, BKCS also conducts blood donation and medical camps every year.
