Gunfight starts in Kashmir


Srinagar, Jun 17 (IANS): A gunfight started on Friday between militants and security forces in Kashmir's Sopore town.

"Security forces on information about the presence of militants, surrounded a house in Chana mohalla locality today (Friday) morning," a senior police official told IANS.

"As the security forces closed on the house, they came under heavy gunfire from hiding militants."

"There are reports of two militants firing from inside the house," the official added.
