Udupi, Nov 8: Many houses in Kaup and Uchil Bada village were damaged, owing to the lightning strike on Tuesday November 6 night.
One house belonging to a certain Shashikala Shetty was extensively damaged and two persons were injured after ligtning struck the house on Tuesday night. The injured persons have been identified as Baby Shetty and Sudheer Shetty.
The houses of Aziz, P Govindan Panikkar and Sesamma in Uchila Bada village have also been damaged, owing to the lightning. Cracks have been found on the walls of many of these houses, sources added.
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former minister Vasant V Salian, Zilla Panchayat member Saraswati Bangera, taluk panchayat member Jagdish Acharya, revenue inspector Satyanand Shetty, village accountant Madhav Gatti and others have visited these houses.
