Udupi: Karavali film festival commences at MGM College

Udupi, Jun 20: The second state level Karavali film festival 2016 (Kannada and Tulu movies) was inaugurated at Ravindra Kala Mantap auditorium of MGM College, Kunjibettu on Sunday June 19.











The film fest was organized by Karnataka Film Academy in collaboration with UNICEF Prasar Bharati national award winner, Disha Communications Katpady.

Dr P V Bhandary, psychiatrist of Dr A V Baliga Hospital, Doddanagudde, in his inaugural address said, "I would like to congratulate the whole team for giving me such a wonderful opportunity. We have to make use of available opportunities. A single vowel 'a' makes a difference in real and reel life. Films are close to life but not always true. As a film lover, I feel that many films are made for entertainment and some of them make us think."

In all, 12 shorts films will be screened during the film festival. Some of them are Roni, Addiction, Manaviyate, Click, Recharge and so on.

Shivaji Suvarna, chairman, Moodubelle C A Bank, Dinesh Kini Alevoor, managing director, Prime TV, Vishwanat Bhat and Usha Bhat, Mulky astrologers, Ansar Ahmed, general secretary, Udupi district Karnataka Rakshana Vedike were present on the occasion.
