Beltangady, Nov 8: Two persons died near Patrame near Uppinangady here owing to lightning strike on Wednesday November 7.
Dakayya (35), son of Lokayya, a resident of Ulia and Veerappa Gowda (40), son of Ammu Gowda Mallinadka, were struck by the lightning when they were working in their field on Wednesday. Though they were taken to the hospital, they breathed their last on the way to the hospital.
Uppinangady police, Maruti Ganapati Naik, Beltangady tahsildar Kaverappa, revenue inspector Padma Kumar, Vasant Bangera visited their families and assured of granting the compensation from the government under Natural Calamities relief fund.
