Udupi, Jun 21: "I was given an opportunity to work as minister for three years. I am not aware why I was all of a sudden dropped. I do not know which conspiracy was hatched to deprive me of the ministerial post. Chief minister (CM) and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) alone can provide answers to these questions" said Kaup MLA, Vinay Kumar Sorake.
Sorake said before the ministry reorganization he had discussed about the prospects of him being dropped. "The chief minister said that there was no such proposal and that no decision had been taken. I was not at all given an inkling of what was to come either by the CM or the KPCC," he explained.
Sorake added that although he is a Billava by birth, he had never confined himself to serving this community. He said he had worked for the welfare of all the communities honestly, adding that he was at a loss why he faced sudden fall from grace.
While opining that depriving Billava community of a berth in the cabinet was improper in the light of the fact that Billavas had been given representation in earlier ministries in the state since long, he opined that injustice has been done to Billavas through this move. At the same time, he said he is aware of the frustration and pain being felt by leaders of the party, community, and activists. However, he advised them to exercise restraint and have patience.
