Bengaluru, Jun 21: Abhishek (24), son of Challakere (Chitradurga) MLA, T Raghumurthy, died in a road accident which occurred near Attur Gate in Hoskote taluk on national highway late night on Sunday June 19.

Abhishek was going to celebrate birthday of a female friend at Cofee Day outlet near Narasapura in Ford Fiesta car, when the car smashed into the road divider when trying to avoid hitting a street dog which crossed the car's path. The car then turned turtle as a result of which Abhishek suffered deep injuries to his head. Abhishek, and Drupad Reddy, who was driving the car, were provided preliminary treatment at the local hospital before admitting into M V J Hospital. Reddy has since been shifted to Hosmat Hospital. Three others Pooja, Anu, and Sumukh, who were in the car, were also injured. The car was badly damaged in the accident.

Grief of Abhishek's parents at the funeral held on Monday was uncontrollable. His classmates said that Abhishek was mingling freely with everyone. He had appeared for BBM examination and waiting for result, it is gathered.
