Horticulture Department to Conduct Research on Mangoes

Margao, Nov 9: Goa Horticulture and Research department at old Goa, have decided to conduct research on variety of mangoes, which are extinct now and to preserve the same after.

Goa having more than 100 rich varieties of mangoes is slowly getting down from this number. Once upon time Goa was too famous for mango cultivation across the world. To maintain this credibility, this department has put a step forward to research on the extinct mangoes variety.

    It is ICAR Research Complex for Goa which is collecting Mango Germplasm. The work was long overdue and not only Mango they should look for other fruit crops germplasm available in Goa. Better late then never
