Stephen Crasta elected president of Emirates Konkans Kasargod, UAE


Dubai, Jun 26 : Well known organiser , musician , community leader of Kasargod deanery Stephen Crasta has been elected as President of Emirates Konkans’ Kasargod, UAE (EKKU) for the term 2016-2018.

Stephen is an eminent personality among resident of Kasargod Konkans at UAE who led various associations, cultural organizations, sports teams at UAE and at native. He is also a musician who produced his own Konkani devotions album “Devacho Mog” recently. He represented North Zone of Kerala in his cricket carrier.

EKKU is an official organization of Konkani speaking community of Kasargod Deanery which was found in 2011 under the aim 'Far Away –Together'. The association currently a union of 13 parishes of this deanery at UAE ,consisting 200 plus energetic members.

The recently held selection committee at Sharjah selected below office bearers for next tenure:

• President : Stephen Crasta , Kasargod.
• General Secretary : Rocky Dsouza , Kayyar
• Vice Presidents : Vincent Rodgrigues and Shanthi Kasargod.
• Secretary :Prameeth DCunha ,Kasargod.
• Treasurer: Edward Monteiro ,Bela.
• Auditor : Roy Dsouza ,Narampady.
• Sports secretary : Santhosh Crasta ,Talapady.
• Cultural secretary : Laila Dsouza , Maniyampare.
• Rep for deanery magazine 'Mahima' & Media :Vinod Kayyar & Mithun Kumbla.

StanyBela who successfully completed his tenure as President for the term 2014-2016 thanked all the members and committee members for their support.

The new team, under the leadership of Stephen Crasta assured commitment and dedication in taking Emirates Konkans to greater heights and to serve society more efficiently.
