Mangalore, Nov 13: The activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) held the torchlight rally, opposing the security deposit imposed by the electricity provider, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM), in the city, on Monday November 12 evening.
The rally started from Town Hall and concluded in front of Mohtisham Condominium, near Dr A B Shetty circle, where the MESCOM office is located. The protestors shouted slogans against MESCOM by carrying torchlight and kerosene lamps in their hands.
Speaking to daijiworld.com correspondent, DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla said that the decision to collect security deposit by the MESCOM is unlawful. DYFI will continue its struggle until it revokes this decision, he clarified.
DYFI leaders Dayanand Shetty, Shashidhar Shaktinagar, Sunilkumar Bajal, Nageshkumar and others were present on this occasion.
