Patna, Jun 29 (IT) : Ruby Rai, Bihar's former Class XII Humanities topper, has told investigators she just wanted to pass, but it was her dad who went on and made her a topper.
"Maine to Papa se kaha tha pass karwa dijiye, unhone ne to top hi karwa diya," she said, according to a report by the Indian Express.
Rai's fraudulent achievement was exposed after an India Today video showed her, and another 'topper', giving ridiculous answers to basic questions about the subjects of their feat.
During the interview, Rai pronounced the subject 'political science' as "prodikal science". When asked what it entailed, she said "it's about cooking," after much deliberation. Rai didn't even know the exams totalled 500 marks.
Sailing in the same boat, Science topper Saurabh Shrestha told our reporter the most reactive element in the periodic table was 'aluminium'.
The video kicked up a furore in Bihar, where reports of cheating and bribes during examinations are commonplace.

After her story made headlines around the country, an embarrassed Bihar School Examination Board arranged for Rai to sit for a re-test and an interview.
She failed the re-test too, where she wrote "Tulsidas ji, pranam" when asked to write an essay on the poet-saint. Rai is now in judicial custody until July 8.
