Bengaluru: Hurt at having been teased, boy commits suicide

Bengaluru, Jun 30: A boy who was hurt at the fact that his classmate had made fun of him committed suicide by jumping from the tenth floor of a building. Ronat Ghanat (13), a ninth standard student, ended his life in this manner at Shastri Nagar Banashankari here on the night of Wednesday June 29.

The boy, it is learnt, was found to be in a gloomy mood when he returned from school in the evening. At night however, he suddenly jumped down from atop a building. Exact reasons which drove him to take this extreme step are not known.

The victim was rushed to hospital immediately, but the doctors declared him brought dead. Policemen, who were informed about the incident visited the spot and registered a case.

Parents of the boy turned inconsolable at this sudden catastrophe that struck them. Southern division deputy commissioner of police, Sharanappa, said that he would summon the parents and get details after the funeral. A case about the incident was filed at J P Nagar police station in the city.
