Mangaluru, Jun 30: Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, conducted a preconference workshop on the topic, 'SPSS and its application' on June 28 at A J Institute of Management, here.

SPSS is the most popular and powerful computer programme widely used in the academic community for doing advanced statistical analysis of data for research and other projects. Hence this practical workshop has introduced everyone to use SPSS for their own statistical analysis.

Dr Shreemathi S Mayya, associate professor (senior scale) and Ashma Monteiro, associate professor, department of statistics, Manipal University, Manipal shared their knowledge, skill and expertise with the group through interactive sessions on Preparation of Master Data sheet and hands on skills on Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The participants of the workshop consisted of PG students, research scholars and other faculty. All the sessions were very interesting and the participants acquired adequate skills on SPSS training.

Dr Larissa Martha Sams, principal, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing was the organizing chairperson, Dr Jenifer D’Souza, HOD, department of community health nursing was the preconference chairperson and Vinutha D’Souza, associate professor, department of community health nursing was the organizing secretary. Melita Edal Mascarenhas, assistant lecturer, department of medical surgical nursing, compered the whole programme. Certificates were awarded to all the delegates.
