Soon, tourists will get to explore more at Rashtrapati Bhavan


New Delhi, June 30 (IANS): The public will have access from next month to three new 'tourist circuits' at Rashtrapati Bhavan here: The main building, two museum complexes and the gardens, which they can see singly or in combination.

The President's Secretary, Omita Paul, on Thursday held a meeting with 24 tour operators in order to publicise the three tourist circuits which will be inaugurated on July 25, an official statement said on Thursday.

Visitors to Rashtrapati Bhavan now have the convenience of booking and paying for their visits online, it said.

Paul told the tour operators that Rashtrapati Bhavan is looking forward to serve as a major tourist destination and sought their help in attracting visitors from India and abroad. 

She said President Pranab Mukherjee, since the start of his presidency in July 2012, has made the effort to demystify every aspect of Rashtrapati Bhavan and bring it closer to the general public.
