Kundapur, Jul 5: In a complaint, two policemen of Byndoor station have accused a mother and her son of attacking them when they were on duty. It is said that the policemen had visited Taggarse village near Byndoor when the duo attacked them. One of the constables was injured in the incident.
A local had called the police station on the evening of Sunday Juy 3, complaining that Raghavendra Shetty, residing at Nelyady Aralikatte in Taggarse village had created a ruckus near his house. When the policemen reached the spot, they saw Raghavendra Shetty standing with a long wooden stick in hand. When they approached Shetty and questioned him, the former reportedly grew angry and scolded them using filthy words. He also tried to intimidate and attack them. Shetty's mother Tungama Shetty has been accused of rushing out with a wooden stick and attacking the policemen with it.
Raghavendra succeeded in fleeing from the spot. He tried to take his mother along, but she fell to the ground. Raghavendra ran towards Huluwadi village, it is said. Police constable, Uday Kumar, was injured in the incident. Uday and his escort, Nagesh, filed this complaint in Byndoor police station.
