Manel Srinivas Nayak Memorial Besant Institute of Post-graduate Studies, popularly known as MSNM Besant Institute was established in 1999 as a far sighted initiative of the management council of Women's National Education Society, Mangaluru, established in 1918, the sponsors of the renowned Besant Educational Institutions. The institute which offers MBA programme is regarded as a pioneer in management education in Mangaluru and has the distinction of being the first MBA institute to be affiliated to Mangalore University.
In a saga of rapid growth spanning 16 years, the institution has been marching towards excellence along the path illuminated by the vision of the illustrious founders. The Institute has adopted a multi-pronged approach to maintain a high standard in its academic endeavors, fostering managerial skill development and the right attitude to life and business among the students.
The Institute offers two-year full time MBA programme affiliated to Mangalore University, approved by AICTE, government of India and accredited by NAAC. Over the last sixteen years, the Institute has developed into a leading center for professional management education, research and consultancy services in this part of the country. In addition to offering a full time course in management, the Institute plans to offer a number of specialized training programmes, and to organize seminars and workshops in collaboration/association with reputable institutions and universities in India and abroad.

The Institute has a very spacious and well-equipped library, with large number of books and e-journals/e-libraries like PROQUEST and J-Gate. The PC Lab, established with the support of TATAs, is equipped with a state-of-art workstation under powerful Pentium based servers having facilities to work on platforms like Dos, UNIX, Windows with multimedia facilities.
Indoor and outdoor games facilities are provided to offer total relaxation and recreation to the students. The two hostel blocks, separate for boys and girls, with all modern facilities are situated just a few yards away from the main Institute building.
The Institute has faculty members who are highly proficient and professional with enviable academic achievements. At the recently announced University results, the Institute recorded a 100% first class pass with many distinctions. Year after year the successful candidates are gainfully placed, through campus recruitments and many of the Alumni are in middle and top level corporate positions.
