No violence will create peace: Beyonce

Los Angeles, July 10 (IANS): Singer Beyonce Knowles has paid tribute to the five police officers killed in shooting incident in Dallas and said "no violence will create peace".

Five police officers were killed and six others injured when a sniper opened fire during a protest in Dallas city over the recent fatal police shootings of two black men in the Minnesota and Louisiana states of the US earlier this week.

The names of the five police officers who were killed -- Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Michael Smith and Lorne Ahrens -- are displayed in a post she made on Instagram, alternating with a black and white image of the Texas state flag.

"No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution," Knowles wrote on Saturday, reports variety.com.

"Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence," she added.

She offered prayers for those recovering from their injuries.

"Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas. I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured," Knowles wrote.

She concluded the note by writing: “To effect change, we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence".
