India hands over navigational chart to Tanzania

Dar-es-Salaam, July 10 (IANS): India on Sunday handed over to Tanzania a navigational chart of the east African country's Mkoani harbour.

“Indian hydrographic survey ship INS Sutlej had conducted a joint hydrographic survey of Mkoani harbour, Tanzania, in early 2016,” the Prime Minister's Office stated.

“The chart will be used by port authorities and ships in the harbour and nearby areas for the purpose of navigation,” it added.

The chart was handed over during the joint press statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tanzanian President John Mafuguli following delegation-level talks here between the two sides.

Modi arrived in Tanzania from South Africa on Saturday on the third leg of his four-nation African tour.

India and Tanzania signed five agreements following Sunday's talks.
