Goa: Alemao Assures Eradication of Public Tap System

Margao, Nov 18 : By taking a bold decision to eradicate the Public Tap system within three months, of across the state, PWD minister Churchill Alemao, who is called a mass leader, has assured people to hot mix all the roads before Christmas season starts.

While addressing press conference in city hotel here, Alemao told that people are misusing the public taps, for washing cars and sprinkling their fiefs, thus causes brunt of water wastage.

According to him per day 20 MLD of water, due to such operations is loosed. This affects state exchequer.

If any tap found not dismantled of any locality, stern action would be taken on those concerned Engineers, he said further.

He also said that those with economically weak families would be given free tap connections, to their homes.

He has served ultimatum to seniors officers, before they going to long tour out of Goa, on holiday, will have to take permission of minister first, if he nods then only they can go.

    Yes this is fine if it saves water and the misuse. But The same ministers supporters in Benaulim have direct water lines going to their houses from the public supply lines with his blessings, free of cost for the last couple of years.What does the minister say about this?.

    its a good move as long as it saves water as well as vastage secondly if free water is given to the poor there also is going to be vastage so i recommend that meters be put for the poor and a limit quota be given and in access minimum charge as in the state of goa there a job for every one if they want to work if out siders can come and get job and buy our land and settle well so why cant our goans.
