SoftBank, Aeris to expand internet of things business globally


New Delhi, July 14 (IANS): Japanese telecommunications and internet corporation SoftBank and Internet of Things (IoT) service provider Aeris on Thursday announced a joint venture to provide IoT and telematics services globally.

Called Aeris Japan K.K., the venture will help Aeris expand its business in Japan and beyond, including India, Europe and the US with the help from global technology major SoftBank.

"By having Aeris as our partner, we are excited to create the world where everything is connected with the offer of best and flexible solutions to multiple business areas" said Hiroshi Akabori, COO of Aeris Japan and Vice President of SoftBank, in a statement. 

The Aeris IoT solutions platform enables enterprises to bring IoT solutions to market quickly, cost-efficiently and with the highest security.

The platform consists of "AerPort" connectivity management platform, "AerCloud" applications enablement platform, "AerCore IoT" network and "AerVoyance IoT" analytics platform. 

Aeris will offer a variety of services ranging from an IoT connectivity platform to IoT application middleware to complete IoT solutions for market segments including telematics in the automotive industry.
