Cloudy Wednesday morning in Delhi, surplus rainfall achieved


New Delhi, Jul 27 (IANS): It was a cloudy Wednesday morning here with the minimum temperature recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, the weather office said.

"It would be generally cloudy sky throughout the day. Light rain is likely to occur towards afternoon or evening," an official of the India Meteorological Department told IANS.

According to the weather office, Delhi has now achieved surplus monsoon of nine per cent as recorded from June 1 to July 27 morning.

"About 239 mm of rainfall is considered to be normal while Delhi on Wednesday morning received 271.6 mm rainfall," the official said.

The humidity level at 8.30 a.m. was 94 per cent. The maximum temperature of the day is likely to hover around 33 degrees Celsius, the weather office said.

The maximum temperature on Tuesday settled at 35.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average while the minimum temperature of the day was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
