Satish C. Mathur is new Maharashtra DGP


Mumbai, Jul 30 (IANS): The Maharashtra government on Saturday appointed seniormost IPS officer Satish C. Mathur as the new Director-General of Police, an official said here.

An officer of the 1981 IPS batch, Mathur is currently Additional DGP - Anti-Corruption Bureau since the past few months.

He will take charge of the top police post in the state from DGP Pravin Dixit - who attains superannuation after serving in the post since September 2015 - later on Saturday.
