Cross border trade in Kashmir suspended


Jammu, Aug 3 (IANS): Cross border trade on the Line of Control (LoC) between the two divided parts of Kashmir was suspended on Wednesday for the week.

A senior official of the district administration in Poonch said the trade taking place through the Chakan Da Bagh crossing point on the LOC will not take place this week.

"Pakistan authorities on their side of the LoC have informed the trade facilitation authorities at Chakan Da Bagh centre that trade will remain suspended this week," the official said.

Cross LoC trade between the parts of divided Kashmir normally takes place for three days in a week through Chakan Da Bagh in Poonch district and Uri in Baramulla district of the Valley.
