AAP calls HC ruling 'anti-people'

New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS): The AAP on Thursday described as "anti-people" a Delhi High Court ruling giving primacy to the Lt. Governor in the affairs of the Delhi administration.

"The High Court verdict has made a mockery of Indian democracy," Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashish Khetan tweeted. "It is an anti-people judgement.

"Would Narendra Modi have agreed to (President) Pranab Mukherjee running the central government after winning 282 seats in the Lok Sabha?" Khetan asked.

This was an oblique reference to the AAP's sweeping win in the Delhi assembly elections in February 2015.

The AAP said earlier that it will appeal against the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.
