Congress feared Ambedkar's prowess, neglected him: Parrikar

Panaji, Aug 7 (IANS) : Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday accused the Congress of trying to ignore the achievements and intellect of the Constitution's prime architect Babasaheb Ambedkar, because it had feared that he would overshadow everyone else in the party.

"But they were afraid that if his intelligence came to the fore, then it would have overshadowed all Congress leaders. Therefore the Congress always tried to banish him to the background," he said at a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste morcha meeting held in Porvorim, near here.

Parrikar also said that people should emulate the qualities of Ambedkar in the true sense and emphasised on the importance of educating children.

Cong neglected Ambedkar, and BJP hates Ambedkar.

In fact now the BJP is afraid of the Power of Dr.Ambedkar's name only, after animal carcasses are strewn all over Gujarat and the brand ambassador of Gujarat Amitabh Bacchan himself is afraid of visiting gujarat.
Besides last week for a meeting of Dalits in U.P arranged by Amit Shah, less than 500 people attended, whereas they were expecting one lakh dalits to attend. Amit Shah had to cancel that meeting hurriedly under some lame excuse.
