M'lore: Padmashali Community to Celebrate Diamond Jubilee

Mangalore, Nov 29: The diamond jubilee celebrations of Padmashali community will be held from Saturday December 1 to Sunday December 2 at Palke Krishna Achar, located in the city and Sri Veerabhadra Kala Bhavan, in  Udupi respectively, Srinivas Shettigar, president, diamond jubilee celebration committee informed media persons at the pres conference here on Thursday November 29.

The community had earlier thought to limit the construction of hostel.  But, afterwards it was decided to construct a community hall in the vicinity, in order to render better service to the community, he added. 

The jubilee celebrations will be also an occasion where community members would converge. It would be helpful to the members to discuss the strengths, problems and future plans, which are highly essential to bring the community to the fore and strengthen the community politically, socially and economically, he elaborated.

About ten thousand community members are expected to gather on the occasion. A souvenir that consists of patrons will be released on the occasion. A ten-point programme has been discussed and laid out for the betterment of community, he added. 

The programme will be inaugurated by Jagdish Shettigar, finance advisor, BJP and presided over by S Srinivas Shettigar.  The valedictory ceremony will be held on Sunday December 2, presided over by Paladka Madava Shettigar, president of Padmashali Vidyavardhaka Sangh, Udupi, he added.   

Jayaram, HA Gopal, Laxman and others were present at the press conference.
