Sushma assures girl about her father caught in UAE

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's active use of the social media to help Indians in distress abroad came to the fore again on Wednesday when she assured a 16-year-old girl that the Indian Embassy in the UAE will help her father caught in a fraud case.

Anjali Mohan tweeted she needed help as her father was trapped in a fraud case in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but was not involved.

"I am just 16 so I don't know," Anjali said.

Late on Wednesday, Sushma Swaraj tweeted: "Anjali -- I hv sent a word to the Ambassador. (The) Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi will contact you and help."

A couple of days back, Sushma Swaraj also helped a couple going abroad for their honeymoon after the wife lost her passport.

There is something called WPS system of salary distribution in UAE.
No company can distribute salaries less than 80% salary of the total staff. I heard it is linked with all govt. agencies and with one default, the company is blocked from accessing anything from the govt.

So labors not getting salary for more than year in Abu Dhabi is not believable.

My friend is under the same situation since 2014 and living in Qatar without Salary and any other form of income as he is not allowed to work. His minor daughter has been requesting both the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and External Affairs Minister Ms. Sushma Swaraj but receiving no response. His employer is the chief of Government Authority and trying to extort money. When he didn't bulge he has framed him with false allegations after one year of him keeping without salary. He is struggling in an alien country with no help from Government. He is also holding his passport illegally. I would request everyone to message Ms. Swaraj to extend the support.

I pity this innocent girl as there is nothing much the consulate can do. The Indian embassy thru its legal channels would approach the prosecution and request for the details of the case. If he is really a fraud, then embassy or Sushma have to call it quits. If he is not, then obviously he will be released subsequent to investigation. This may take time. His PP might be kept in the police station as deposit till its completed.

No matter what party (Cong/BJP) we support inside the nation, once we cross the borders, we are considered as INDIANS, not as supporters of any party. Therefore being discriminated against is never an issue.

However, I strongly condemn Indian PMs going abroad and boast about their schemes and insult previous governments. This sends a wrong message about us INDIANS, this certainly displays discriminating attitude.

    SK,

Have you ever seen any low category treatment towards a British or an American ? Why ? Because their consular services are so strong that even police in the locality fear to take action against them. First thing the embassy does is appoint a lawyer and the lift the involved out of the country.

We Indians were treated like cats and dogs which has come to some improvement lately. May it be from the time of Kuwait war or Iraq/Libya. Good that the Indian government has woken up towards a golden goose called NRI, good that adequate measures are taken to assist them when they are in trouble.

Whether Sushmaji or any other officer/government, lets appreciate their efforts and enjoy the services. God forbid, sometimes we ourselves may be at the mercy of such services. Therefore lets not belittle them.
