Kolkata, Aug 11 (IANS): A man has been arrested and remanded in police custody for allegedly getting his son killed through hired killers in West Bengal's East Midnapore district, police said on Thursday.
Fed up with his drunkard son's wayward ways, Ashok Dwivedi had hired two contract killers for Rs 1 lakh to get rid of his son Animesh, the contract killers -- Joydev Maity and Debdulal Maity -- told the police during interrogation.
Animesh's body was found on March 16 in Junput in the district.
According to the police, Dwivedi's behaviour following the recovery of his son's body and his refusal to lodge any complaint led them to suspect his involvement.
"He was presented before a court yesterday (Wednesday) which remanded him in police custody for five days," said a police officer on Thursday.
