Haryana Governor turns giddy at I-Day parade

Chandigarh, Aug 15 (IANS): Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Monday felt giddy at the Independence Day parade, officials said.

Doctors said he felt dizzy owing to hot and humid conditions. "His condition is stable," a doctor told IANS.

After unfurling the national flag here, Solanki, who is also the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, was delivering his address when his condition deteriorated.

"For some seconds he stood motionless at the podium. His staff offered him a chair and a glass of water," said an official.

Sporting a saffron headgear and half jacket, Solanki later attended the function and honoured families of the freedom fighters.

Officials said Solanki underwent a cardiac check up in July.
