US dollar declines against most major currencies

New York, Aug 16 (IANS): The US dollar slipped against most major currencies on Monday as recent downbeat economic data from the country dented market expectation for an interest-rate hike soon.

In late New York trading, the euro rose to $1.1185 from $1.1171 in the previous session, while the dollar bought 101.23 Japanese yen, higher than 101.14 yen in the previous session, Xinhua news agency reported.
