Bengaluru, Aug 18 : "Leaders of the party should organise rallies, form outfits and organizations only within the party boundaries, and should not cross the 'Lakshman Rekha' for promoting community-based outfits," state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa has warned.
He was responding to MLA and senior BJP leader Eshwarappa's newly-announced outfit 'Sangolli Rayanna Brigade' to bring backward communities under one roof. Eshwarappa has planned to garner support from the backward communities in an attempt to bring them under the 'Hinda' organization, countering CM Siddaramaiah's popular 'Ahinda'(organisation for minorities, backward communities and Dalits). Eshwarappa's proposed outfit will represent backward communities and Dalits.
But Eshwarappa, defying Yeddyurappa's warning, informed reporters there was no question of going back on his decision to form 'Sangolli Rayanna Brigade'. This would rather strengthen the party, he felt.
"Anyone is welcome to organise a rally, but it should be within boundaries. If a party leader organises a rally in his individual capacity then no party members should join it. This is applicable to all party members including Eshwarappa," said former CM B S Yedyurappa to the media on Wednesday August 17.
"This is not my individual decision, but a note has been taken by the executive committee. Every member has been notified of this," said the former CM
But Eshwarappa is firm on organising a mega rally to bring backward communities and Dalits under one roof in the name of 'Hinda'. According to Eshwarappa, the bylaws of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade are ready. It will be registered on Thursday or Friday.
