Wellington, Aug 19 (IANS): New Zealand's education sector saw revenue from services delivered abroad rise from about $75 million in 2012 to $124 million in 2015, a statement said on Friday.

The report from the Education New Zealand agency also showed that the added value, or broader contribution to the economy, of education services delivered overseas was $175 million, Xinhua news agency reported.

The top markets shown were Australia, China, the US and Britain.

International education was New Zealand's fifth largest export industry, with onshore education delivery estimated to be worth $2 billion annually in the year ending March, Steven Joyce,

The government aimed to increase the value of international education to $3 billion by 2025 and, as part of that, to increase education services exports to $363 million, Steven Joyce, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, said in a statement.
