Mangaluru: Gang abducts young man, demands Rs 1.5 crore ransom

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Aug 22: A gang has abducted young man from Manjanady and demanded a ransom of Rs 1.5 crore to release him, as per complaint lodged at Konaje police station.

Mohammed Arif (29) is the person who has been abducted.

Abdul Rahman, a close relative of Mohamed Arif, has mentioned in the complaint that Arif was going to dockyard as usual at 4.30 am on August 11 and he was taken by the abductors from near his house.

It is said that a black car was spotted near Arif’s house on the same day. Some people had seen it moving with high speed. It is now suspected that the gang came in the same car and took Arif.

Abdul Rahman has said that from the day Arif has been missing, the family has been receiving phone calls and demanding Rs 1.5 core money. The calls are coming from a foreign number, he said.

Even on Saturday, a call was received from the same number and the caller identifies himself as Irani, Abdul Rahman said.

Konaje police circle inspector Ashok said that they are investigating the case and there are some leads. He said that a house in Bekal was also raided in the connection.

Arif worked abroad for many years and had come to stay in India last year. It is strongly believed that he owed some money to some people and they have abducted him to get the money back.

Some expatriate in the middle east cheat to biz expatriate community and run to their native country. These people will haunt them, wherever they are and finish them.

If that is the case, then, I pity the abducted person. Only solution to repay all money.

If not the above situation, then, the gang involved might be a local con man gang.

Definitely Indian police are very smart and they will investigate.

    Good luck.
