Bengaluru, Aug 22: While Actress-turned-politician Ramya, is being attacked on social media for the last two days after she made ‘Pakistan is not hell’ comment, Kannada actor-politician Jaggesh slammed her for those comments in a rally.
Participating in an ABVP protest against anti-nationalism on Sunday Aug 21, Jaggesh said: "People who have not studied and do not have any experience are praising Pakistan. They should be given a peace prize, maybe a Nobel. They should also be allowed to stand next to Bill Clinton and take photos."
Going a step further, Jaggesh said “Those supporting anti-national sentiments are like mosquitoes and bedbugs. They should be destroyed with poison."
Ramya reacted to these comments with a tweet that read: 'Ouch! That hurts!'
Ramya had said in a women's rally in Mandya recently that Pakistan was not a hell as many in India had thought. She had been to Islamabad in Pakistan to attend the SAARC Young Parliamentarians Conference - 2016.
BJP leader Prahlad Joshi on Sunday said that Ramya should go to Pakistan with the senior Congress leaders and stay there.
Reacting to the BJP dubbing her 'anti-national' for praising Pakistan, Ramya sarcastically tweeted a report about RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat saying ‘Pak is our ‘brother’ government must work to improve ties’. Her tweet said ‘Mohan Bhagwatji of the RSS says that Pakistan is India's brother.’
She also tweeted that 'We all know Narendra Modi’s famous visit to Pakistan.'
Ramya later tweeted that she only meant how well they were looked after in Pakistan. She mentioned few words from religious texts which said “Anger shows the frustration of a person and makes him to lose mental balance” referring to Jaggesh.
This is not the first time that Jaggesh and Ramya have engaged in a war of words. The two had a bitter spat when Ramya walked out of Jaggesh's movie Neer Dosa, which was ready for release.
