Udupi, Aug 24: 3 out of the 5 arrested accused in Bhaskar Shetty murder case were given judicial custody and 2 were given criminal investigation department (CID) custody when they were produced in JMFC court in city on Wednesday, August 24.
Rajeshwari (48), the wife of Bhaskar Shetty,her son Navaneet Shetty (20), and astrologer Nandalike Niranjan Bhat (26), the main accused in the case, were given judicial custody till September 6.
Niranjan's father Srinivas Bhat (56) and car driver Raghavendra (25), who have been accused of destroying evidence, were given CID custody till August 29.
Rajeshwari was separately produced in court as is presently housed in Mangaluru prison.
Permission for DNA test
The court also heard the application made by the police for permission to match DNA of Bhaskar Shetty by collecting DNA of his mother Gulabi and his brothers. The court after hearing the same, ordered the DNA test.
