6.7-magnitude quake jolts Papua New Guinea


Port Moresby, Aug 31 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter Scale hit off Papua New Guinea on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake occurred at 39 km east of Namatanai with a depth of 499 km, Xinhua news agency cited the USGS as showing.
