Jio ad features Modi; PM is Mr Reliance, tweets Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, Sep 2 (Agencies) : As India woke up to front page advertisements in leading newspapers featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Jio ad, a belligerent Arvind Kejriwal tweeted to ask if the PM is 'Mr Reliance' now.

"PM as Mr Reliance," Kejriwal said in his comment as he retweeted a senior journalist who wondered if the Prime Minister has become the brand ambassador of a leading corporate.

"Any more proof reqd to prove that - Modi ji Ambani ki jeb mein (Do we need more proof that Modiji is in (Mukesh) Ambani's pocket)," said another tweet by the Delhi Chief Minister.

"PM of India openly endorses Reliance product," Kejriwal said in yet another tweet. He even retweeted an AAP member who posted, "Modi ji has become a "Salesman" of Reliance. #RelianceKaPM."

The full-page ad published today has a large image of PM Modi in blue jacket - consistent with the colour of Jio's logo - as the caption in boldface said: "Dedicated to India and 1.2 billion Indians".

On Thursday, Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man, had himself launched the much-talked about Jio 4G service, offering free voice calls and national roaming along with what he claimed will be the world's lowest data tariff.
In his speech at the high-profile launch in Mumbai, Ambani alluded to Modi's ambitious Digital India and Make in India programmes. "Jio will fulfill the Digital India dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.

Why not Modiji be featured in Reliance ad!?. After all he has helped Reliance make people ullu by giving free unlimited DATA and voice calls free upto December 31st!!!. How come a company that doesnt even give you Rs. 1 can give so much free!. Petrol raised by 3.67 and Diesel by Rs. 2.34!!!. Got everybody!?. Reliance is the biggest supplier of petro products in the country and they are using a tiny fraction of amount collected as windfall profits to fund this free scheme!!!!. Simple fact is there is no free lunch anywhere in the world!!! Everyone who enjoys anything free has paid it somewhere or some one else has paid for it!!!. Thanks Modiji for helping your friend Ambani!. This is called real friendship!!!. A friend in need is a friend indeed!!!!!. What Congress looted since Independence will be overtaken easily within 5 years!!!!!!!!

@john- just gone through jio website and one media report from English daily. Actually voice calls are free.
But you need 4g supporting smartphone and it is extra cost.
Basic plan 149 for 28 days comes with 0.3gb data free.
You know what? This sim is not free lifetime. After 28 days you need another 149 to keep your number active.
My current Airtel sim valid lifetime and doesn't ask me to recharge every month.
I think jio is flop show

sri, what are you trying to say!?. Are you saying that what is reported in newspapers and what Mukesh himself told during Jio release is all lies!?. If it is so, why others operators have considerably reduced tariffs!???. Dont try to spread lies like you are doing everywhere!

See how well Modi has mixed Business and Politics and he has become its spokesman. As per the 50 lac fine, Ambani would gladly pay that money for him as he is poised to make much more money from this deal.

Can't fully blame him, how could he displease his main benefactors. If he has to stay in power and win the next elections he needs these powerful companies at his side.

    People,

Why only Modi's picture...picture of Ambani at Center Modi in one side and Moily(co-accused with Ambani in 1.76 lakh crore Gas scam )at other side would have been more appropriate...

In the background, both CONgress and BJP symbol should be displayed...these two parties are responsible for Ambani's wealth...

Kejriwal is ready with his symbol(broom) to do pooja for these two parties...no other party dares to talk about Ambani...

People are stumped to see Modi in commercial ad. It is illegal to use the photo of PM in commercial ad. under "Emblems & Names Prevention Act 1950". Earlier Maple group had apologized to Modi for using his Photo in ad.

This is what money can buy and at least it is clear Modi too is for sale.

Let the telecom providers fight each other. Common man can enjoy their free services. But Reliance has already extracted their loss by increase in petrol/diesel price hikes. Only other players will be incurring heavy losses.
