South Korea beat China 3-2 in 2018 WC qualifier


Seoul, Sep 2 (IANS): South Korea defeated China 3-2 in their opening game of the final round of Asian zone World Cup qualifying football tournament.

South Korea started on a good note and went 1-0 ahead in the 21st minute thanks to an own goal by Chinese captain Zheng Zhi here on Thursday, reports Efe.

The South Koreans doubled their lead in the 64th minute when Lee Chungyong headed home a cross from Ji Dongwon. 

The home side made it 3-0 only two minutes later as Koo Jacheol netted a goal from close range.

Yu Hai slotted home to pull one goal back for China in the 74th minute before midfielder Hao Junmin curled in a freekick in the 76th minute.
