Key Indian equity indices close higher


Mumbai, Sep 2 (IANS): The key Indian equity markets provisionally closed higher on Friday.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) provisionally closed higher by 35 points, or 0.40 per cent, at 8,809.65 points.

The barometer 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 28,498.72 points, provisionally closed at 28,532.11 points (at 3.41 p.m.) -- up 108.63 points, or 0.38 per cent, from the previous close at 28,423.48 points.

In the day's trade, Sensex touched a high of 28,581.58 points and low of 28,427.63 points.
