Mangaluru, Sep 2: 'Noshibacho Khell', Konkani movie, which broke all previous records in terms of collection, reviews and number of shows, has started its shows in Nataraj theatre in Suratkal from Friday, September 2. The first show received houseful response despite 'Bharath Bandh' observed today around the coastal region.
Fr Paul Pinto, the parish priest of Suratkal, presided over the programme and inaugurated the show by his prayer and lighting the lamp.
In his message Fr Paul Pinto appreciated the Henry D’ Silva for his great work and also the leaders and the parishioners of Suratkal for their support and love towards the Konkani language and culture. Fr Remigius Aranha the parish priest of Pezar was the chief guest and he congratulated the producer. Peter Alex D’ Souza, the vice president of the parish was the guest of honour and he promised to support such good works. Henry D’ Silva welcomed the gathering with the sentiments of gratitude. Fr Antony Lobo, Fr Norbert Lobo, Fr Francis Xavier Gomes, Fr Alwyn D’ Cunha Fr Rockvin , Fr Valerian D’ Silva the film actors were present.
The lay leaders of parish and of the Varado were present for the inauguration. The parishioners of Suratkal with sentiments of joy were present for the programme and thereafter the theatre was full for the show. Veera Pinto was M C for the programme. After the movie the people reclaimed oh, how nice first of its kind in Konkani. We should see it for the second time.
Producer Henry D’Silva in a media release announced that, he is withdrawing ‘Noshibacho Khell’ movie from Mangaluru theatre to make way for another Konkani movie which released on September 2 in order to avoid the competition within small Konkani movie industry.
Henry also said “With the blessings of Dr Aloysius Paul D'souza, bishop of Mangaluru has run successfully for three weeks across Mangaluru and Udupi. This movie has been watched by 25,000 people and has completed 200 successful shows. It has earned high appreciation by the audience. We are grateful to the audience who have made this movie a great success. As another Konkani movie is hitting the silver screen we have decided to withdraw our film from the theatres to avoid the competition among Konkani cinema. We wholeheartedly thank Bishop of Mangalore and Udupi diocese for blessing this movie with their support. We are also grateful to the priests and nuns of both the diocese for their support. And we are thankful to audience who have made this movie a grand success. We also wish all the best to the new movie which has hit just the silver screen.”
