Cow vigilantes mistake chicken feed for beef, torch truck

Bhopal, Sep 3 PTI) : Cow vigilantes today torched a truck carrying chicken feed, and beat up the owner of the vehicle suspecting that it was carrying beef, at Zhora village, 40 km from here.

Following the incident, Bablu Thakur (22) and Gaurav Thakur (24) were arrested, local police inspector H C Ladiya told PTI. "We have lodged case against 15 persons. Two were arrested and the rest are being identified," he said.

Asked to comment on media reports that said the accused were Bajrang Dal workers, Ladiya said he did not know about it. "We are going to take tough action in the case," he added.

The truck, carrying raw chicken feed and headed for Manpur in Uttar Pradesh, developed a snag at Zhora village. Its owner Rajesh Jain, resident of Dholpur in Rajasthan, asked his driver to fetch a mechanic, the inspector said.

But the stench raised due to dry animal bones and organs like intestines used in the preparation of chicken feed, attracted the attention of some locals. They suspected that the truck was carrying beef out of Bhopal and knocked on its door. Jain, who was sleeping in the cabin, got down from the other side. The crowd got hold of him and bashed him.

Within minutes, kerosene was brought, poured on the truck and it was set on fire, inspector Ladiya said. A patrolling police jeep reached the spot about the same time and alerted the Bairasia police station and the fire brigade.

Police rushed there along with fire tenders and swiftly brought the situation under control, Ladiya said. The fire only damaged cabin of the truck before it was put out and Jain had been slapped only once and did not sustain injury, he added.

"We have booked the accused under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 427 (mischief) and 436 (mischief caused by fire and explosive) and other sections of IPC," the inspector added.

President of India signatures on cow slaughter bill has emboldened the 'Go rakshak' this far.

Where is our first citizen of India?Does he realise the ground reality? How long will this will be tolerated even India became top beef exporting country?

I would request open letter or PIL asking the President intervention.

If challenged they may even take the word of PM Modi to shoot in order to create rift.

A few days back a video clip was circulated on social media showing a herd of cow/Buffalo crossing a foot bridge made for humans. There were more four legged users on that structure, than the two legged.

The nation was certainly not India. It is impossible for so healthy cattle stride on, with so much of comfort and ease. To all you readers' surprise, the country is none other than PAKISTAN, where beef is a daily dish as contrary to India. India is supposed to have more vegetarians yet the cows are on the run for life escaping from both - the thieves as well as protectors.

If the present trend goes on, cows will be so scarce, future generations may have to see the bovine creatures in zoo only.

Mark my words, all those supporting these kind of illegal activities!. If this virus of so called cow vigilantism is not controlled, very soon Pakistan too will overtake India in growth!. China which was much behind India in 1950's has now overtaken India in every sphere and we are no where near them!. There people never interfere in others lives and state has full control over everything and no one can challenge state!. Here if some useless people who can't earn anything by themselves make a group and give it a religious color, they become superior to even state and even challenge state!. Please note, we will be collecting only cow urine and using products made from it thinking that we are superior over the world even after another couple of centuries!.

Modi is he hero of many 'First Time' attempts. One of them being going uninvited to rival country's PM's Birthday party.

If you will say that it is for improving the relationship between two nations, what followed since then does not indicate so.

He thumped 56" during election and roared "we will enter inside pakistan and bring 10 heads against one Indian soldier's killing". Same 56" silently went to Pakistan, not to bring heads, but, to have beef biryayni. "We will extradite underworld don, if we come to power". They came to power for world tour. It was no doubt just the chicken feed.

The report says "the stench raised due to dry animal bones and organs like intestines used in the preparation of chicken feed".

So, the chickens appear to be fed with some balanced diet.

I thought the traditional feed for the chickens contained only grain and vegetable matter.

But now the chickens are fed stuff made up of "dry animal bones and organs like intestines". But parts of what animals?

I think I will raise my own chickens.

Mr. Modi will be speaking about the chicken feed inspectors when returned from the foreign visit.

How hard it is to live in India in peace if these street goons are roaming the streets and terrorizing the people everywhere under the aachi din rule of India?

In another South Indian news paper, there was a news that pounds of trash-plastics were taken from the belly of a wandering cow in Gujarat, the cow is so sick looking. None of the street inspectors will touch that cow, great holy mother cow lovers of the 21st century.
