Pakistan army resorts to unprovoked firing on LoC in Poonch


Jammu, Sep 6 (IANS): Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked, indiscriminate firing on Indian positions on the line of control (LoC) in Poonch district on Tuesday.

"Pakistani soldiers initiated indiscriminate firing at midnight on Indian Army posts along the LoC in Poonch district," Defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS in Jammu.

"Our troops have retaliated appropriately."

Intermittent firing exchanges are still going on in the area, he added.
