Haryana factory gutted in fire


Gurgaon, Sep 7 (IANS): India-Japan Lighting (IJL) factory, a vendor company of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), was gutted in a major fire that broke out late Tuesday night, an official said on Wednesday.

The fire occurred around 9 p.m. at the factory located in Sector 6, IMT Bawal, Rewari, around 70 km from Gurgaon.

The company manufactured and supplied various types of lamps for automobiles.

The fire broke out on the first floor of assembly line where packing materials were kept.

Nearly 500 workers were on job when the incident occurred. The cause of blaze could was not known.

A fire official told IANS that the blaze spread quickly due to stored plastic and rubber materials.

It took several hours to douse the fire and smoke could also be seen on Wednesday morning, a worker said.

No casualties were reported, the official added.
