Truecaller integrates Apple's CallKit to identify spam calls

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS): Mobile communication app Truecaller on Thursday announced the integration of the new Apple "CallKit Extension" for iOS 10 which will improve identification of spam calls on iPhones.

For incoming calls, the new integration allows Truecaller to automatically identify and display whether a call has been reported as spam or is from a reputable business.

This reduces the need to manually search for numbers of unknown calls after a call is left unanswered.

"Working closely with Apple over the past few months, we are proud to bring a call solution to your iPhone to provide safe and authentic communication," said Tom Hsieh, VP Partnerships and Growth, Truecaller, in a statement.

In addition to the improved spam detection, Truecaller is adding a new "My Block List" feature which will let you control exactly who can and cannot contact you.

"Users in India receive more than 300 million unwanted calls per month, and there has never been a greater need for Truecaller's services," the company said.
